Yay! So excited to be nominated by the people of Wisconsin and readers of Wisconsin Bride Magazine for Best Florist in 2013! Looking forward to the upcoming party in June!

After a little hiatus in blogging, I am back! The new blog look isn’t finished yet but you can’t go forever and NOT blog -especially when I have so many pretty things to post!

Thanks to Whitney Furst for asking me to participate in this beautifully styled engagement photo shoot last summer along with Kirsten of Fab Event Design. Whitney had a vision for a couple in love, soft pink color, freshly laundered cotton and an amazing setting. I designed a sweet and simple bouquet of pink dahlias and queen anne’s lace, which were also incorporated into a cluster of white spray painted cans. Thanks Whitney!

Sigh. Two things I love together – a cheerful color palette and a barn wedding. AND two people in love, so three things! Laura and Adam were married at Blue Horse Farm (just down the road from me – yay!) in New Richmond Wisconsin on a beautiful June day. Amazing twin cities wedding vendors like Lizie Anne Weddings + Proposals, Jeff loves Jessica Photography, and Chowgirls Catering all had a hand in this rustic, Wisconsin farm inspired wedding.

I incorporated Laura’s favorite flower – peonies, into the bouquets. My current obsession – apricot parrot tulips were present, as well as chamomile, scabosia, queen anne’s lace, grasses, yarrow, ranunculus, allium, golden spray roses, and some snips of orange honeysuckle from my friend Maddy and her garden.

In May, my talented friend Maddy with Somewhere Splendid Blog asked me to participate in an inspiration photo shoot in celebration of her baby daughter Aurora who was born in March. We had hoped to also have a real party afterwards, but a rainy weekend forced us to cancel the fun. The photo shoot was still a blast and Wing Ta with Canary Grey Photography took some amazing pictures for us! The design concept was based around a circus theme with bits of gold and and a beautiful color palette of pinks, orange, and some fuchsia. My color loving heart met it’s match with this project! I incorporated some coral charm peonies and paint tipped a few of the blooms for a little gold sparkle.  The ribbon table runner was one of my favorite design pieces and check out that cute dessert table! On Solid Ground Vintage Rentals provided us with all the beautiful furniture and props. Our Wisconsin spring Sunday brunch wedding inspiration photo shoot was featured this last week on Style Me Pretty!  Amazing film images by Emily Steffen as always. I will be posting more photos soon!

Congratulations today to Amy and Adam who were married at Mystical Rose Gardens in Wisconsin! Amy had some beautiful burlap runners on the guest tables with purple edging and handcrafted goodies for table decor.

It’s been a busy spring around here. In between wedding design work, photo shoots, two little boys (and a husband) the landscape is being renovated! It’s a horticulturist’s dream — all new stuff!  Thanks to C. Hassis Snow Removal and Yard Services and crew located here in Somerset for the help with the clean up work. They do an amazing job!

I loved Amanda’s easy going, romantic, but modern style. Her groom (now husband!) Justyn loves roses, so I included a couple of different varieties of garden roses with other spring flowers like peonies, parrot tulips and ranunculus into the design. They had an amazingly gorgeous spring day for their at Mystical Rose Gardens and I hope I get to see some of the professional photos soon! For now, these are just a few I took with my phone while I was setting up for the wedding.
